The Network of Young People Living with HIV and AIDS in
Tanzania (NYP+) is a Non-Governmental Organization that was founded in January
2003 and legally incorporated in November 2005 under the NGOs Act of 2002 with
registration number 00/NGO/0514. The Network's registered office is in Dar es
Salaam, but it will function across Tanzania by forming chapters in the Regions
through District Clusters (There are currently 23 chapters of NYP+ in the regions of Dar es Salaam, Mbeya, Iringa, Njombe, and Songwe. ). Other
chapters will be launched in the remaining areas of Tanzania's Mainland in the
near future. The organization was created by dedicated teenagers and young
people living with HIV/AIDS with the goal of assisting their peers in
overcoming the different problems they confront. The Network runs throughout
Tanzania's Mainland.
Our Vision
NYP+ envisions a world with no new HIV infections, where people make empowered sexual health choices, and where those living with HIV do so with dignity, good health, and equality.
